Concave and convex lenses
About the game
In this game you can visualize ray diagrams and image formation in concave and convex lenses through simulations.
Grades: 7 to 9
Time: 15- 20 mins.
Skills you will learn: Reasoning and problem solving skills.
Teacher Notes: Using interactive simulations, students visualize ray diagrams in real time and put their knowledge into practice. As they progress through the game, they solve challenges on image formation, the lens formula and magnification—mastering correct sign conventions along the way. Perfect for an engaging 15–20 minute in-class review or homework assignment!

How to play
Follow the simulations to understand the various ray diagrams for different object positions. Click on object positions – at infinity, beyond 2F, at 2F, between 2f and F and between F and O and observe the animated ray diagram showing formation of image.
Learn the lens formula and its application in solving numerical problems.
Observe the application of concave and convex lenses as corrective lenses in solving eye problems like myopia and hypermetropia.
Play the game by choosing the correct key slot to make its image open the door. Jump on the correct answer stones and pass through all the doors. Finally give correct answers to the numerical questions and finish the game.
